How do the financial aid vouchers for purchasing textbooks work?

Answer

How Does the Alliant Bookstore Work?

The Alliant Bookstore is the official source of record for needed material a student would need for a course. Each semester the university inputs the needed materials for all course sections. A new bookstore opens about 4 weeks prior to each session start date.  When the store is opened, all active students are sent an email to notify them. The bookstore for a session closes on the last day of the session. You may search your course materials online using your schedule and purchase them either online, or through another vendor of your choice.

Are Financial Aid Vouchers Available for the Bookstore?

The University issues financial aid vouchers about 7-10 days prior to each session start date.  Students that receive the vouchers are those scheduled to receive an excess in federal financial aid funds. Vouchers expire at 9pm Pacific Time on the add/drop date. Any voucher amount used is billed to the students' ledger card the following morning and purchases are funded through financial aid.  Everyone who is eligible for a voucher is contacted directly by the bookstore.  Students with any questions on vouchers should go to SF@alliant.edu.  Only financial aid students eligible for excess funds are eligible for vouchers, but other payment options are available.
